AMMAN : The capital of Jordan. This is a city of contrasts. There are many old parts of town together with the new buildings. Away from the centre , the streets are dry and dusty. This city is built over nineteen hills. A recommended field trip would be the one to the Acab mountain, from where God showed Moises the Promise Land.
Jerasch
JERASH : It is the best well-kept city of the "Decápolis" ( a confederation of ten cities from de first century BC). There are fertile and green valleys; you can also find the Forum, some theatres, Byzantine temples and churches.
"CASTLES OF THE DESERT" : There are organized tours. You can see the Roman, Byzantine and Omayan castles, as well as the enigmatic Kharranech fortress. In Quasr Amra, a recreation castle, you can see some very beautiful and valuable frescos, which have become Human Heritage. There, you can also find the Roman fortress called Azrak, built by black volcanic stone.
Petra-El
Tesoro
PETRA: This city is Jordania´s jewel. Without any doubt, Petra is the most interesting place to visit. You can get there through the "Kings Road". In your way to this road you can visit the "Nebo Mountain". On this mountain there is a monastery, in remembrance of Moises crossing through these lands. There is a vantage point over the Jordan Valley and in the distance you can see the Dead See. Then you can continue your trip till Madaba, where there is the church of "Saint George" (orthodox cult). Inside, there is the raised-pattern map of the Middle East with Jerusalem in the centre.
Kerak, where the Mesha King´s Stella was found out; from Mujeb Valley, you ride 300 metres on horse till Alsiq, a cliff that drives you to Petra monuments: these are unique buildings, as if they were a big sculpture engraved in stone. The whole panorama is of a great beauty.
